 11/01/2008 - We have launched a Beta version of our new Forest Fire and Wildland Fire mapping system - this version is free and can be viewed at http://fires.globalincidentmap.com with expected improvements coming in the near future. The data is gathered from the media, as is true with most items that we display on any of our maps, and this system also brings in a feed from the USGS (with permission). This map is published in response to calls from jihadists for a 'Forest Jihad', with terrorists threatenign wide-scale arson in forests throughout the world.
